Raven Rock

What a wonderful day we had at Raven Rock. The weather was cool and sunny, and we had an excellent turnout. We ran out of yellow maps, so a few people had to copy their courses, and we squeaked by on the others. There was one problem with the codes where we listed the code as RZ, but it was really PZ.  (The problem arose because on our master map, when we were drawing up the control descriptions the "P" was on top of a trail, and the dash from the trail made it look like an "R")  A couple of people indicated they spent time on that error, so we have listed it in the results. (If it cost you some time, and it isn't listed, send me an email & I'll make the notation.)

The new software worked quite well and results were posted within seconds. The network worked just like it did in testing (I must admit I was surprised -- computers usually don't behave for me like this.) so we had two data entry points and registration moved along quite well.

Those who registered on the internet found they could skip out of the slow "registration" line and get right into the faster "start" line.  If you plan on coming to another event you should register on line and pick your permanent four digit number. It will be quicker and easier for everyone.  (If you were given a number at the event, it was only temporary, and you won't have it for the next event.)
